Differing to difference

You have got to do things differently .This is one of the few things that you would have heard from various people at various occasions when you do not want to hear them and they come to you in various disguises.Like, when you are sitting at your appraisal meeting and your supervisor says "I need more proactive suggestions from you" or when you go to your teacher asking her the reason as to why you have got a 6 out of ten in your essay and then again it comes "The language used in the essay was ordinary" and when you ask for further clarifications, then ,it shows itself in its true colors "you have got to do it differently".

This has also been the reason as to why it has taken me so long to write my first blog.I wanted to write a blog totally different from the other introductory blogs, something new ....fresh....cool .After many wasted efforts in doing so (how can you really make a different intro ...by not actually making it one ???), i realized that i was falling to the same trap that was laid down by so many people that i had fallen into and now i was doing the same thing to myself.

What is so special about doing things differently...Nothing(with a capital N).For most people doing things differently is presenting the same stuff in an entirely new light or tweaking a few things here and there and presenting it all over again. If that is what doings things differently means,i beg to differ big time. The whole reason why people want to do things differently is to give their monotonous routine some change. The only reason why i would do a thing differently is if it doesn't fit in the present scheme of things and does not fetch the desired result.

So just for a change, lets do different things rather than doing things differently...

  2. Pretty god start dere..but i beg to differ (no pun intended ;)..with the jist of the article. The reason being that the number of people in the world, doing things, far outweigh the number of things to be done. So, the only way to stand out from the crowd is to do the same things differently. But eventually, it boils down to your choice. You could either be in the crowd...or above it ;)
